Dr Yvonne Prinsloo

Yvonne values investing in tomorrow by growing people, especially young adults, to help them determine their destiny and purpose in life and to walk in it confidently.

Since she is also very passionate about life, she does everything in excellence and has acquired much experience in a variety of fields. Because of her positive personality, she has made a difference in people’s lives wherever she is involved.

Degrees, experience and speciality

Yvonne achieved her degree in Industrial Psychology at RAU, after which she went to work in a banking environment as a Human Resource Specialist where she gained experience and training in communication skills, planning and managerial leadership. She was responsible for all HR issues for a number of branches in the Gauteng area.

She has also been a youth leader, cell and team leader, a Sunday School teacher, usher, counsellor and presented the EE111 as well.

Yvonne is a Pastor (Marketplace Ministry), Life and Transformation Coach, has her PhD in Ministry (Thesis: Establishing a Christian Based Small Business Enterprise) and writes books on her fields of interest.

Her speciality is communication, planning & goal setting, personality development and at present is developing a Biblical Parent Coaching Course which will be very beneficial to both parents and children.

The Emotional State Triangle

Thoughts impact your life and have the power to define who you are and what you become. The root of all human emotions lies in your thoughts.

Your thinking influences your emotions which influence your behaviour.

The Emotional State Triangle can help you discipline emotions by identifying your thoughts and managing your behaviour.

The 3 forces of the State Triangle

FORCE 1: Physiology – this refers to your body posture/language, and your physical demeanour.

FORCE 2: Language – are the words used, your voice tone, volume and inflection.

FORCE 3: Focus/belief – what you choose to focus on or believe in.

How to use it

We can use one or more of these forces to bring about a change in our emotional state.


Example: you find yourself thinking very negative thoughts and feeling depressed. YOU HAVE A CHOICE. You can stay like that …… or you choose to CHANGE…… by changing any one of the forces in the state triangle.

The best is always to start with Force 1

your physiology

Change your body language!

Sit or walk upright! Smile!


Now look at Force 2

language

Were your words negative? Are your thoughts negative? Change your words! Speak positively in a positive tone of voice, and laugh!


Then move on to Force 3

focus/belief

What were you focusing on? Negative issues? Change your thinking! Speak out something positive and focus on that.

Immediately a change reaction starts to occur within you. If you do this continually it will become a way of life and that is exactly what you want! You have to choose to start with and continue the process.

This offers a way to influence your thinking and thus improve your emotional state.
